ANTHEMS OF THE VOID
Backline requirements and notes.

Gear to be provided by venue is in bold text.

Caylie (voice) will be processing her vocals through an effects pedal with 1/4″ unbalanced out into your direct box. We will have the necessary cables and adapters.

Provided by venue:

  • Straight mic stand, SM58 or equivalent
  • Direct box
  • Stage Monitor
  • AC outlet

Bradford (pencilina, electronics and drums). The pencilina, which B invented, is a full range instrument which is very roughly the sonic equivalent of an electric bass and guitar. Bradford will have a mono mix of his instrument (with amp sim) and additional synths and sounds. Bradford’s output is 1/4″ mono unbalanced into your direct box. The drums (bass drum, HH and snare) should be miced as usual. Note that the HH is on Bradford’s left and snare on right. There should be a stage monitor loud enough with a dedicated mix for Bradford so he can hear himself over the drums. If there is no dedicated monitor mix a bass, keyboard or guitar amp with decent lows will be fine for his use on stage and his direct signal taken before the amp should be used for the house (if possible don’t mic the amp or use its active circuitry). NOTE: Bradford’s rig takes 10-15 or so minutes to setup and is difficult and precarious to move. It has the footprint of a drum set. If it needs to be relocated the best solution is to preset on his rug and then slide the rug spotting the gear on it. Bradford tends to set up on stage left.

Provided by venue:

  • Bass Drum
  • Bass amp (or amp with decent lows) OR dedicated monitor mix through a monitor with decent lows
  • Stage monitor with Vox and Guitar (if no dedicated monitor is available and external amp is used)
  • Direct box (mono before amp)
  • AC outlet
  • Milk crate/extra case/stool/box or armless chair to use as a side stand for electronics.

Geoff (guitar)

Provided by venue:

  • Fender twin or equivalent
  • AC outlet
  • Stage Monitor

Mixing Preferences. A nice big rockin’ sound! Please don’t add noticeable delays or anything resembling digital reverb. Bradford’s signal is full range and is pre-mixed for your mixing pleasure.

THANKS IN ADVANCE
